China is seeing steady job growth this year while maintaining a relatively low unemployment rate. That's according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. The ministry said Wednesday that 4.7 million new jobs were added during the first four months of this year. That's 30, 000 more jobs than last year.
The ministry said at a news conference that East China remains the magnet for employment growth and acquired about 44 percent of all new jobs. Western and central China followed in gaining the highest shares of new jobs. Meanwhile, China's urban registered jobless rate came in at 4.08 percent during the first quarter.
