Chinese top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng said on Tuesday that China is ready to advance its relations with Mozambique to a new level.
Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Lucas Chomera, the first deputy chairperson of the Permanent Commission of the Assembly of the Republic, or the Mozambican parliament, in Beijing on Tuesday morning.
Yu said China and Mozambique are "friends of all weathers." He said since the two countries established diplomatic relations 39 years ago, bilateral relations have grown smoothly. He said China is ready to join Mozambique in seizing the opportunities in the development of each country and further deepening cooperation in all areas.
Yu said China places great importance on its relations with Africa. He said China will continue to implement the policy of being true, practical, close and sincere to Africa and advance all-dimensional cooperation with the continent. He said China will continue to advance a new type of strategic partnership with Africa.
Yu expressed readiness to step up exchanges between the CPPCC and the Mozambican parliament so as to enhance mutual understanding and friendship of the two peoples. He said he hopes that the two sides will offer advice and support to the government and enterprises of the two countries on expanding bilateral relations and practical cooperation.
Chomera expressed readiness to further deepen friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their people.
