The kidnappers who have abducted two Chinese nationals in the southern Philippines last week demanded a ransom of 30 million pesos, Philippine police said Monday, according to Taiwan's Central News Agency.
A 45-year-old woman surnamed Lim and her daughter, 19, were taken away by armed kidnappers suspected to be members of terrorist group Abu Sayyaf on May 22.
Lim's son confirmed that his mother had called home on Sunday about the ransom, according to the report.
