Over the weekend, Chinese pop star Li Yuchun strutted the red carpet on the French Riviera.
Li has also had a fairly successful acting career. In 2009, she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Hong Kong Film Awards for her role in "Bodyguards and Assassins." But Li's last film acting job was two years ago, and she's still looking for the the right role.
"I wanted to try something completely different. I remember talking to director Tsui Hark. He said 'I think you can do comedy.' I thought 'really?' That's challenging. If there's something good, I'll give it a try," she said.
Unlike many of her peers, Li rarely updates her Weibo micro-blog; she said that she would rather do her chatting face-to-face, but she admires other stars who use social media to communicate with their fans.
"Right now social media is so popular, that's why a lot of people are using it. I think the way Zhou Xun used weibo to announce her relationship was especially cool," she said.
Li says she's not the type to share her life with others on social media, she says she'd rather do her chatting face-to-face.
