A building in the southern part of downtown Beijing caught fire on Thursday evening, with casualty numbers unknown.

Beijing's fire command center received the report of the fire in a residential building in Xicheng District at 6:10 pm.

Firefighters and fire vehicles have rushed to the site.

As of 7:30 pm, the fire has not been extinguished. No casualties have been reported and nobody has been found trapped in the building.
