A proposal has been approved by Taiwan's ruling Kuomintang (KMT) for appointing Wu Den-yih as vice chairman of the party.
Previously, the KMT had six chairpersons: Tseng Yung-chuan, Hung Hsiu-chu, Huang Min-huei, Eric Chu, Jason Hu and Hao Lung-bin.
Wu served as KMT vice chairman and secretary general of the party in 2008, a job he held until 2009 when he was appointed as the chief of executive body. In May 2012, Wu served as deputy leader of the island.
