Shanghai once again proves that it stands at the forefront of China's cultural scene. The city's Pudong International airport has opened China's first museum-within-an-airport, and it's the perfect place to kill some time during a long layover.
Shanghai's Pudong International Airport has opened China's first museum-within-an-airport, the perfect place to kill some time during a long layover.
The museum is located at Gate 90 of the airport's Terminal Two Building. The opening exhibition features European porcelain pieces on loan from the Shanghai History Museum. Its 53 relics are all daily-use porcelain items made in European countries in the 19th and 20th centuries, and they have already attracted quite a few passengers.
The small airport museum plans to hold new exhibitions twice a year, and hopes to lure many culture conscious visitors.
