A man was sentenced to five years and three months for forging serial numbers and illegally publishing over 2 million copies of three newspapers in 28 provincial regions, the Xinhua News Agency reported Saturday.
The man, surnamed Jiang, was charged with illegal business operation and fined 450,000 yuan ($71,994) by the Donghu District People's Court in Nanchang, East China's Jiangxi province.
From February 2012 to September 2013, Jiang infringed a local newspaper's license and set up a special edition of the newspaper. He published three newspapers: World Weekly, Global Reference and Observation of National Power.
