Members of a drug gang across several Chinese provinces have been apprehended for drug manufacturing and dealing, local police announced Wednesday.
Police in Da'an city in northeast China's Jilin province said they have detained 20 suspects, with more than 700 kilograms of processed marijuana and one vehicle seized.
The gang allegedly illegally planted marijuana in the northeast provinces of Jilin, Heilongjiang and Liaoning and then transported the drugs to the northwest region of the country, according to the police.
The gang leader, surnamed Li, was seized while transporting the drugs. The gang has sold more than 2,000 kilograms of marijuana since it began operating in 2013.
