An alleged thief who was robbed twice may find himself behind bars after complaining to police in Huaihua, Hunan province.
A Hui contacted police after being held up for 5,000 yuan ($800) and 2,000 yuan on separate occasions by the same man.
The victim allegedly had broken into a home on April 8 and stole some clothes. While making his escape, A Hui was caught red-handed by a man surnamed Yang.
Seizing the opportunity, Yang accused him of also stealing his computer, which did not exist.
At this point Yang forced A Hui to withdraw 5,000 yuan from an ATM while wielding an axe. After making the withdrawal, Yang returned A Hui back home on his motorcycle.
A Hui claims that Yang returned to his residence the following evening with two other men and similarly robbed him of 2,000 yuan.
Yang his two accomplices were detained in connection with eight robberies involving some 60,000 yuan. Police will also take A Hui into custody on theft charges.
