Spam text messages, including those sent via iMessage, are expected to be brought under control with upcoming regulations to be issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Beijing Business Today reported Monday.
Eight standards on anti-spam technology will come out this year to regulate commercial text messages. Particularly, the ministry is working on prevention and monitoring technology to track down spam and crank calls on iMessage, which is vulnerable as telecom operators can't intercept spam from Over the Top services.
