Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Monday met with Ali Akbar Velayati, foreign policy advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Yang underscored great importance China places on developing ties with Iran, saying China would like to increase exchanges with Iran at all levels, deepen pragmatic collaboration and enhance people-to-people relations.
Yang called on the think tanks of China and Iran to increase communications and give advice on the development of bilateral relations.
Velayati said Iran-China relations have a broad prospect, pledging Iran would like to work more closely with China in all fields.
Velayati visits China as the guest of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
