A pair of alpacas, also known as the grass mud horse in China, modeled for a promotion in downtown Beijing on Tuesday, attracting a crowd of curious onlookers who were keen to take pictures of the furry and adorable creatures.
The creatures, rented by a company to serve as models for promotion during the World Cup, worked to attract passersby in the Sanlitun District, a bar compound in downtown Beijing.
Passersby, children in particular, were jubilant when they saw the animals, who behaved well when they were photographed.
"They are so cute! I want to take pictures with them!" a girl cheered.
One of the alpacas was cream-colored and the other was brown.
According to company staff, the company has to spend around 7,000 yuan per day (US$1,150) for the rent.
