Female patrons of a shopping mall in Dalian, Liaoning province are getting through the front doors more quickly thanks to women-only parking spots.
Located near the front entrance, the "women-only" spaces are marked with bright pink lines and are slightly wider than other spots in the shopping center's parking lot
A mall manager said the spaces were intended as a convenience to women, the majority of the shopping center's patrons, and was not a statement on their driving ability.
Locals applauded the move and encouraged other shopping malls and the city government to create more "women-only" spots.
Similar parking spaces can be found in other countries, many of which are located near shopping malls.
Seoul, South Korea invested $100 million to create women-only parking spaces in 2009. The super-sized spots were made in an effort to ensure parking safety, said the city.
