The results of some research projects funded by China's Ministry of Science and Technology were found to be fraudulent, Party discipline inspectors said on Wednesday.
The inspection team dispatched by the Communist Party of China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) also pointed out that the power for approving funds in the ministry is too concentrated and lacks proper supervision.
The team said the ministry lacks efficiency and some officials are overseeing other work besides their government job.
The team encourages the ministry to improve on its Party building and officials' style of work.
The CCDI has already reported inspection results to Fudan University as well as Henan and Liaoning provinces.
