An official in Hubei province died after falling from a government building on Wednesday morning.
Li Haihua, director of the people's congress standing committee in Xiaogan, was found dead after falling from a building at about 9 am, according to a short statement released by the city's publicity department.
The police are still investigating the case, the statement said.
Li got the post in January 2012. Before that, he was deputy mayor of Xiaogan, in charge of urban construction.
A number of government officials in the province have been subject to corruption probes since early last year. In May, Zhou Shigang, head of Xiaogan's housing and urban-rural development bureau, was probed on corruption allegations, according to a statement released on the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China.
