Bomb explodes in NW China airport

A bomb exploded at Xi'ning Caojiapu Airport in Northwest China's Qinghai province at 1:45 pm Tuesday, China Youth Daily reported via its official Weibo account.

There have not been reports of any casualties.

The bomb was placed in a garbage bin in a parking lot - and cleaning personnel were working at the site when the blast occurred.

Armed police and bomb squads cordoned off the area within five minutes after the explosion, and they searched the area for any other bombs.
