3 die daily in accidents

According to statistics released by the Beijing Municipal Government, 527 people died through lethal accidents in the first six months of 2014, the Beijing News reported.

The number of lethal accidents reported were 487, including traffic, fire, railway accidents and industrial accidents. These statistics amount to three deaths a day through accidents.

Compared to the first six month of 2013, the number of lethal cases has increased by 27 percent, with the death toll rising by 23 percent. The number of deaths in road accidents accounts for 87 percent of the total number of deaths.
