A Xinhua News Agency report has put an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) program offered at Peking University under scrutiny, suggesting that it may serve as a front for politicians and businessmen to make under-the-table deals.
Peking University denied the charges, insisting that all of the enrolled students have business backgrounds, and do not hold any political posts.
However, in a later report published by the Beijing Youth Daily, a teacher at the university surnamed Pan made further statements saying that half of the students enrolled in the course are government officials, who either belong to organs under the central government or serve in provincial governments.
