Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu province of China, is preparing for an important event of this summer, Youth Olympics, and a training court adjacent to the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center Stadium staged its first athletic test event over the weekend.
235 athletes from Nanjing Sports School and JinLing Middle School attended the athletic tests. They are all amateur contestants aged around 16 which is similar to the athletes in the real games.
The guiding boards which read 'boys' and 'girls' represent the features of the Youth Games. In addition to the adjusted contesting standards , requests about referees are also made to suit more for the youth, as age below 35 is strictly required among the 235 referees.
All of the referees are professional with half of them having attended either the Beijing Olympics or the Guangzhou Asian Games.
