Staff from the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression have visited the Miyun county home of a woman whose husband and five sons were killed during the war to collect her belongings to be used in a new exhibition, the Beijing Daily reported.
Deng Yufen (1891-1970) became better known after she was mentioned by Chinese President Xi Jinping in his July 7 speech commemorating the start of the war 77 years ago. Deng's kerosene lamp and baking pan were among items donated to the museum by her grandson.
