As the temperature in Beijing rises and the second phase of Sanfu approaches, residents of the capital are eating more cold noodles, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.
In the Chinese Lunar Calendar, Sanfu refers to the hottest period of the year between mid-July to mid-August. The second phase of Sanfu from July 18 to August 6 is traditionally a time for consuming noodles, as it is believed to help sweat and relieve internal heat. Some Beijing time-honored noodle restaurants such as Xinchuan Noodle Shop, Huatian Yanji and Emei Restaurant have increased their supply and launched new products.
