Two Canadian nationals, Kevin and Julia Dawn Garrett, were put under investigation on Monday by the national security department in Dandong, Northeast China's Liaoning Province, for allegedly eavesdropping on classified information about China's military and national defense research, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The spying of other countries on China has never stopped, an anonymous scholar with the China Foreign Affairs University said.
"The detention of the two spies indicates that we have enough evidence to prove that they conducted actions that jeopardize China's national security," the expert said.
