Confucius Academy, a non-profit institute that provides classic Chinese literature and culture training to people at home and abroad, has established a branch in Guiyang, Guizhou province, during the ongoing 24th Chinese National Book Trade Fair.
The academy, not to be confused with the Confucius Institute, which has branches around the world, also publishes Confucius Academy, a bimonthly Chinese-English bilingual literature and culture review magazine.
Jiang Jianguo, party chief of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, attended the opening ceremony of the academy and gave a speech highlighting the importance of protecting and promoting traditional culture.
