Beijing high school students, who are applying for universities in the US via education agencies, have found the agencies' fees have soared this summer, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.
The fees charged by the education agencies in applying for the universities are between 40,000 yuan ($ 6,498) to 300,000 yuan, compared to 20,000 yuan in previous years.
An employee with one of the agencies explained that the fees include examination fees, online applications, document postal fees and training for the passing of exams.
However, these agency fees do not guarantee any offers from US universities.
