Weather authorities say moderate to heavy rain will continue in the quake-hit regions in Yunnan province, heightening risks of flooding and landslides.
Authorities warned that persisting rain may push up water levels in the lakes and rivers in the quake's epicenter in Ludian County and nearby regions. Geological disasters in the upper reaches of the barrier lake are also highly possible.
Local departments are ordered to strengthen monitoring and take all necessary precautions. The rainfall is expected to decrease after Tuesday.
