The Beijing police have enforced severe measures against hospital scalpers that have led to the arrests of 113 suspects and the holding of 109 in criminal detention centers, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.
Since March this year, Beijing police have launched an investigation into hospital scalpers who made profits by re-selling medical appointments to patients. Police also found that some clinics conspire with scalpers to make profits. After the gathering of evidence, police decided to take action.
Hospital scalpers usually disguise themselves as patients or hospital staff to gain the trust of victims. Police urge people to keep their eyes peeled and report any such behavior at hospitals.
