Woman complains after pesticides failed to kill her in suicide attempt

A woman accused a store in Guangshui, Hubei province of selling her fake pesticide on Sunday after the chemical liquid failed to kill her during a suicide attempt.

The woman surnamed Chen stormed the local industrial and commercial administration on Sunday morning to complain after apparently drinking down a bottle of pesticide she had bought from a feed store in Haodian town.

However, what failed to kill her only made her angrier.

"I wanted to complain! I can't believe that I'd run across fakes even when drinking pesticide!" media reported Chen as saying.

Chen told officials she had consumed the pesticide after an argument with her husband.

Authorities visited the store and determined the pesticides to be real but had been expired for several months.

A total 36 bottles were confiscated at the scene by industrial and commercial administration officers.
