Iran youth olympic team leaves for China

An Iranian sports delegation left Tehran for China on Tuesday to take part in the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games, Tasnim news agency reported.

Iran will participate in the games with 16 athletes in swimming, judo, shooting, equestrian, athletics, taekwondo, volleyball, Greco-Roman wrestling and weightlifting.

"We can earn medal in weightlifting and taekwondo in the Youth Olympic Games. We can also win a medal in judo," president of Iran's National Olympic Committee (NOC) Kioomars Hashemi was quoted as saying.

The 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games will be held in Nanjing of China on August 16-28.
