The annual Zhongguancun Science and Education Tourism Festival opened in Beijing's Zhongguancun Science Park on Aug 7.
The festival, now in its fifth year, integrates science with tourism. It offers visitors great opportunities to explore state-of-the-art technology at some of the top-notch high-tech firms and scientific research institutions in Beijing's Haidian District, where Zhongguancun, China's high-tech hub, is located.
This year's festival features an intelligent tourism forum, seven tour routes to experience science, lectures on popular science, summer camps and a Lego Challenge.
One of the highlights of the festival is that Beijing Aerospace City will open to the public for the first time, allowing visitors to experience the training and life of astronauts.
