China's weather authorities have predicted a large-scale rainfall across China in the next two days. Torrential rains are expected in eastern China's Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Zhejiang.
Heavy rains will also hit southwestern China's Guang-xi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Yunnan province, as well as Tibet Autonomous Region.
Provinces in northeastern China will also see rain, although in smaller volumes. The rain will slightly alleviate drought-stricken areas in Ji-lin and Liao-ning. A heavy downpour started last Friday in Southwest China. In some areas, the total precipitation has exceeded 500 millimetres.
