A court in Xiamen, Fujian province, has sentenced a German citizen to death for murder, the www.sohu.com website reported on Thursday.
The sentence passed by the Xiamen Intermediate People's Court on Wednesday is the first in which China has imposed the death penalty on a German.
The report said the man is from the southern German state of Bavaria and killed his Venezuelan ex-girlfriend and her new German boyfriend with a hammer and a knife on a street in Xiamen in 2010.
The man's identity was not revealed and no further details were released by the court.
