The World Health Organization has announced a total of 24 suspected Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo and that 13 have died from the disease.
But according to WHO, the Ebola outbreak in Congo had no link to the epidemic in West Africa.
On Monday, the UN has sent protective gear for medics to Congo and donated US$3 million dollars to the nation to fight against the deadly virus.
In Sierra Leone, authorities announced Wednesday that a third doctor had been confirmed dead from Ebola. The doctor had been treating patients infected with the virus in the eastern part of the country.
The Ebola epidemic, which has killed at least 1,400 people, has affected Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, with several cases in Nigeria.
