Wang Rulin has been appointed secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), replacing Yuan Chunqing, according to a decision announced by the CPC Central Committee on Monday.
Wang, born in April 1953, had served as Party chief of northeast China's Jilin province before the new appointment.
His predecessor Yuan will be appointed to a different position, the CPC Central Committee said in a statement, without further details.
