At the beginning of new school year, a middle school in Beijing rejected some long-haired male students on the grounds that a fashionable hairdo would distract them from studying, reported the Beijing News.
The school rules state that boys should have crew cut and girls should braid their long hair. The school also forbids colored hair and nail, arguing that students should pay more attention to studying, not hairdo and make-up.
