Senior legislative official removed from office

Bai Enpei, a senior official from China's top legislature, has been removed from office for suspected "serious discipline and law violations."

The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee made the decision to remove Bai, and due procedure is currently under way, said a source with the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee on Wednesday.

Bai was deputy head of the Environment and Resources Protection Committee of the National People's Congress.
