Heavy rain to hit NE, SW China

Heavy rains are forecast for northeast and southwest China over the next three days, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) forecasts on Wednesday.

Moderate to heavy rain will sweep parts of northeast China and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Wednesday and Thursday. The eastern part of Heilongjiang will see torrential rain, with precipitation of up to 50 to 70 mm, accompanied by thunderstorms and gales.

Meanwhile, heavy rainfalls will hit parts of Sichuan Basin, Chongqing Municipality, as well as Guizhou and Hunan provinces on Thursday and Friday, with some regions experiencing rainstorms.
