Chinese and Iranian citizens can receive a visa upon entry to Bolivia, without a previous consultation at a Bolivian embassy or consulate, the government announced Monday.
The measure, enacted by presidential decree No. 2097, transfers China and Iran from Group 3 to Group 2, which grants visa waivers and extensions.
According to Bolivian visa requirements, countries are divided in three groups - Group 1 for countries whose citizens do not require a visa; Group 2 for countries whose citizens can obtain a visa on arrival; Group 3 for countries whose citizens must obtain a visa in advance.
The United States is classified in Group 3, which has 12 countries, while there are 52 in Group 1 and 129 in Group 2.
