Public security department of north China's Shanxi Province announced the arrest of 22 suspects for drug dealing offences on Wednesday.
Police also confiscated 110 kilogram of methamphetamine, 510 gram of "magu", a stimulant composed of methamphetamine and caffeine, and over 5.4 million yuan (about 870,000 U.S. dollars) in cash. Guns and bullets were also recovered.
Police in Jinzhong City in Shanxi uncovered a drug network covering ten cities in five provinces and busted the gang in late July following a December tipoff. With the help of Guangdong police, a lab which provided the drugs was destroyed.
China has intensified efforts against drug trafficking. The Supreme People's Court (SPC) announced in late June that 39,762 criminals had been sentenced for drug offenses in the first five months of 2014, up 27.8 percent year on year.
