Chinese tennis icon Li Na will put an end to her professional career, the official microblog of China Central Television Channel 5 (CCTV5) has alleged.
"According to sources, Li Na will officially announce her retirement tomorrow. As a result, Li will miss the Wuhan Open and the China Open," the microblog read.
Health issues have been cited as the reason behind her decision.
The 32-year-old has been forced to miss the U.S. Open because of a lingering knee injury.
Li Na won her second grand slam title earlier this year at the Australian Open. However, early exits from both the French Open and Wimbledon prompted her to part with her coach, Carlos Rodriguez.
