China on Sunday celebrated the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), an important instrument of socialist democracy in China's political life.
Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the event, which was jointly convened by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the National Committee of the CPPCC.
Chinese leaders Li Keqiang, Zhang Dejiang, Liu Yunshan and Wang Qishan are present at the meeting.
The meeting is presided over by Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.
