China reported less traffic-related deaths and road accidents during the week-long National Day holiday from Oct. 1 to 7, according to the Ministry of Public Security.
The number of deaths from road accidents plummeted by 42 percent year on year over the past week, while the number of road accidents causing casualties also declined by 34 percent, the ministry said on Tuesday. It did not detail the exact number of deaths.
Firemen across the country responded to more than 13,000 fire alarms in the past week, rescuing over 2,600 people, it said.
