A former senior railway official in southwest China's Sichuan Province has been arrested for taking bribes, said a court in Shanghai.
The arrest of Chen Ling, former deputy head of the Chengdu Railway Bureau and general manager of three other companies, was approved by the Shanghai People's Procuratorate on Sept. 30. The railway transport branch of the Shanghai municipal procuratorate launched an investigation into Chen's case on Aug. 26.
In July last year, former railway minister Liu Zhijun was given a suspended death for bribery and abuse of power by a court in Beijing.
