"So far, Jiangsu has established five pairs of sister cities with Britain. Meanwhile, both sides have been undergoing the productive collaboration in the fields of culture, education, agriculture and environmental protection," he said.

He added that he hopes the event could open a window for the British communities to comprehensively understand Jiangsu.

Liu Xiaoming, Chinese ambassador to Britain, said that among all Chinese provinces, Jiangsu is known for its history and rich culture, and it also excels in economy and high-technology.

Recent years have seen close changes and cooperation between Jiangsu and Britain in a wide range of areas, such as business, trade, science, technology and people-to-people exchanges, and the relationship between Jiangsu and Britain has been furthered, Liu said.

An economic and trade conference will also be held during the event.
