Chinese police arrested about 780 suspects in a national campaign against ticket scalping from Sept. 5 to Oct. 9, said the Ministry of Public Security on Friday.
Police dealt with about 680 cases during the campaign and seized about 21,000 tickets. They also closed investigations of 176 ticket counterfeiting cases.
Ticket scalping is a major problem around big holidays like the Mid Autumn Festival and National Day holidays.
Police increased patrols around railway stations and ticket agencies. Information from travel agencies and the public contributed to the success of the campaign, the statement said.
About 720 million people traveled during the seven-day National Day holiday.
