The South Korean Coast Guard sought to arrest three Chinese sailors Sunday for allegedly "obstructing investigation and attacking law enforcement officers," Yonhap News reported.
A clash broke out on Friday between Chinese fishermen and South Korean coastguard officers some 130 kilometers off the western island of Wangdeung in the Yellow Sea. A Chinese fisherman died after live rounds were fired. Five Korean coastguard officers were also injured.
A South Korean coastguard spokesperson said the incident took place during a crackdown on illegal fishing.
