China advocates political solution to Ukraine issue: FM

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Thursday that China advocates a political solution to the Ukraine Crisis.

Wang made the remarks in talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, who briefed Wang on the current situation in Ukraine and likely solutions to the crisis.

The Chinese foreign minister reiterated that China holds an objective and just stance on the Ukraine issue, and insists on a political solution.

Ukraine should become a bridge of communication between all parties, instead of an outpost of confrontation, he noted, adding China will continue to play a positive and constructive role toward that end.
