Chinese players Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang won the women's doubles title at Yonex Denmark Open in central Denmark's Odense on Sunday, beating Japanese rivals in two straight sets.
The former world's No. 1 defeated Japanese Misaki Matsutomo and Ayaka Takahashi with a convincing victory of 21-14, 21-14, netting the first gold for the Chinese team.
"We are very pleased with the way we played this tournament," Wang said after the match. "We felt confident throughout the tournament," she added.
Chinese players have entered the finals of all five disciplines of this year's tournament. The women's singles final will be contested between last year's winner Wang Yihan and top seed Li Xuerui, both of China.
