A total of 12 hutong lanes near Anhui Guild Hall in Xicheng district, which were renovated to reproduce the original setting of the Peking opera hub during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), have now been opened to the public, reported the Beijing Daily.
Anhui Guild Hall was the location where opera actors from Anhui Province came and settled in Beijing, thriving to promote their opera genre. Peking opera elements, including artworks of famous opera roles, decorate the street walls in the neighborhood.
The theatrical stage in the hall is one of the four great opera stages among folk performances in Beijing. Visitors to the stage need to reserve in advance.
