Police in east China's Jiangxi Province have launched a manhunt after two schoolchildren were stabbed to death and another sustained serious injuries on Friday.
The suspect attacked the children as they walked home from school at 11:45 a.m. in Luojia Village in Yiyang County, Shangrao City, a spokesman with the county publicity department said.
The suspect fled into nearby countryside and police are yet to find the weapon.
An eight-year-old boy died at the scene and another child died in hospital.
The injured boy, six years old, has been transferred to a hospital in Shangrao City for treatment.X According to the publicity department, the suspect was released from prison in April.
